This week, Motis Estates had Milo from the Harvey Grammar School on Work Experience, one of his tasks was to come up with 5 things that he likes about Folkestone and 5 to improve:
1- Good access to train stations
Folkestone has 2 train stations which means you can easily access places like London and Ashford in less than an hour!
2- Lovely walks
Folkestone is a very walkable place you can walk along the lovely seafront towards the warren or up along the hills with the white horse
3- Busses
Folkestone has a massive bus station right in the heart of the town these busses mean students or elderly people can get to schools or homes easily. Not only this but schools that are further away such as Brock hill can be accessed using these busses
4- Town
Town is the centre of Folkestone it's houses many shops and brilliant restaurants that serve amazing food town also includes things such as a museum, cinema, and other great things
5- The harbour area
The harbour area is a seaside area which holds many things such as the harbour arm which is filled to the brim with restaurants and views but also Roger de Hans new modern apartments
5 things to improve Folkestone
1- new leisure activities such as a new cinema, bowling alleys or lanes and a new shopping centre to bring more business to Folkestone
2- making Folkestone more walkable adding dedicated walking paths would really help certain people find their way
3- bus passes. Giving students free bus passes at certain times could really be beneficial to getting young people out and about
4- sorting roads. Folkestone has lots and lots of broken and batten roads which make travelling hard in many areas
5- Water refill stations around Folkestone could really stop dehydration and sun exhaustion in the summer
